my app does not use any networks stuffs, so I don't want link my app
with the libwx_base_net-2.6.so.0.

I don't know if the following is the reason:
when my app is load in memory, the global wxString variable is inited,
at the time, wxInitialize is not called, which will result in problem. right?

so how can I declare global wxString variable in my wxBase based console
app?

my app is like this:

wxString g_PathName; // global variable

int main(int argc, char **argv)
{

}
I use the wxBase (no gui, ansi, shared, debug) in SuSE Linux Enterprise 9.
When running, it prints:
wxstring.h(740): assert "!empty()" failed: wxstring: index out of bounds.

I am in Linux

I am using SuSE Linux, my question is how to in high peformance ?

I only want to know how many file in that dir.
maybe there will be thounsands of files so when using FindFirst/FindNext,
it is slow.

there maybe southands of files in the directory, I just want to know how many files in the dir, how?

I know GetFirst/GetNext can solve this question but how to do it in high performance?
