Re: wxWidgets 2.9.2 Executable size

Thanks again, Auria. One change is that in wx 2.9 the assertions are left in, even in release mode. So the assertions take some more space. I suppose I removed all assertions when I added this option: DEBUG_FLAG=0 Quote from: http://wiki.wxwidgets.org/Reducing_Executable_Size Only link libraries you...

Re: wxWidgets 2.9.2 Executable size

Auria, thank you so much. I turned the use of debug off in release as below: mingw32-make -f makefile.gcc DEBUG_FLAG=0 <other options> Also I turned on the compiler optimization for size: -Os # in config.gcc # Standard flags for C++ CXXFLAGS ?= -Os Also used -Os optimization in my project compilatio...

wxWidgets 2.9.2 Executable size

Hello everyone, I've started using wxWidgets 2.9.2 today. I'd been using v2.8.12 before. The executable size has grown twice. Startup wxWidgets project in Codeblocks compiled to ~2.6 mb exe in v2.8.12. In v2.9.2 it is compiling to 5.52 mb exe. It is twice as big as the one in 2.8.12. I read suggesti...

Re: wxDba - compilation

Update: I succeeded to compile the wxDba lib with VisualStudio.

Some work on environment variables and search directories and it worked. ;)

I would be happy if someone posted an usage example :)

PS: Moderators please mark the topic as "Solved" as I couldn't figure out how to do it.

Re: wxDba - compilation

Ok, I tried compiling with mingw now: In cmd I wrote: cd /D <path to wxDba folder> mingw32-make -f makefile.gcc DEBUG=0 The compiler gave error stating it couldn't find include files: many files from "wx" dir: wx/wx.h wx/datetime.h ... To fix this: I tried adding the path to wxwidgets include folder...

wxDba - compilation

Hello everyone! I've started using wxWidgets recently and I love it! Especially the gui part. I wanted to try writing a db application with wxWidgets. Read about wxODBC, it turns out to be outdated - it's been removed from the project. So I looked for the alternatives. wxDba seems to be a good candi...
