Hmmm... Well, I don't think that it makes much sense to develop portable applications that use special wx-features that aren't available in all versions. There must be a way to solve my problem...

Do the two of you have different settings in "setup.h" for wxUSE_STD_STRING? in my config.h I've got #define wxUSE_STD_STRING 1. I don't know how to check this on his machine because he didn't build it from the source, but installed the debian packages. Does he have a config.h, too? By the way: how...

Aurtomatic string conversion

Hi there! I'm currently programming an application that makes heavy use both of the STL and wxWidgets. On my computer everything compiles clean and there are no errors. Then, I sent my application to another friend. He gets a lot of errors when compiling it and he sent me the errorlog. Most of the e...

Drag and Drop between wxListView and wxTreeCtrl?

Hi!
Is it possible to let the user drag items from a wxListView-Control and drop them on a wxTreeCtrl? I know how to implement drag & drop within an item, but I don't know how to implement the interaction between two items which doen't have the same class...

[wxFlexGridSizer] Simple problem, complex solution?

Hi! I need a Dialog for my application that looks as follows: On the left side I need a wxTreeCtrl. In the middle there has to be a wxSplitterWindow that splits vertically. On the right side have to be text-controls with labels. <pre> +-----------------------------------------------------------+ | D...

Well... I found the error some minutes ago. My advice: Try not to call Member-functions on a NULL-Pointer :D

[wxTreeCtrl] GetItemData() causes a segmentation fault

Hi!
I'm actually coding for an application that uses a wxTreeCtrl-Item. Its is filled with some Items that are all associated with Item-Data. When I call wxListCtrl::GetItemData my application crashes. Even GetItemData(GetRootItem()) does the same. Has anybody an idea what I could be doing wrong?

I could fix the error. I had some bad symbolic links concerning gcc. Effectively I used gcc-3.3 with newer binutils

Problems when linking to wxwidgets libraries

Hi there! Yesterday I downloaded the wxWidgets sources for GTK+ under Linux (Version 2.6.2). I ran ./configure in the main directory and also make, make install both, in the main and the contrib directory. The last thing I did was to run ldconfig. Everything worked fine. Now I've got a KDevelop-proj...

wxThread & error 6

My app uses a class derived from wxThread. When I create a thread and call Run() I get the following error message: "Error: Can not resume thread 0 (error 6: die Zugriffsnummer ist nicht definiert.)" The last bit in german means that there is an invalid handle. I don't know what I've done wrong, I a...

It's not only the socket that doesn't work, it really seems as if the thread wouldn't be executed. I guess it has something to do with the project settings and / or the fact that it is a console application...

Errors when using wxSound

Hi!
Visual C++ tells me about an unresolved external symbol called [email protected] when I use wxSound objects. Which library do I have to link to my app?
