Re: window id required even with wx built with --disable-gui

After reverting e8b8b0288 and further commenting #include wx/windowid.h, I could get a usable wx build when configured with --disable-gui.

Will just keep a branch as such.

Thanks for your replies.

Re: wxPD_APP_MODAL : is its absence taken into account ?

.... the parent window ... I missed that in all the above. Let me clarify. Use case situation : my app copies files to some destination, the copy progress is shown in multiple progress dialogs. For years, I could continue using the app window while the file copy is going on. Indeed, the parent field...

Re: wxPD_APP_MODAL : is its absence taken into account ?

I tested with wxWidgets 3.0.3 as a zip archive from github. Sill the same unexpected behaviour. If it was wxWidgets related, such an old version should have been OK. It's not a real problem for my use case, just annoying as I have to wait for the app window to be enabled, so I'm giving up. May be it...

Re: wxPD_APP_MODAL : is its absence taken into account ?

Tried a few commits, more than a year old, without observing a non-modal app window. Next I tried a very old checkout that failed as such LC_ALL=C git checkout v3.0.0 error: The following untracked working tree files would be overwritten by checkout: art/osx/README art/osx/close.png art/osx/close_cu...

Re: wxPD_APP_MODAL : is its absence taken into account ?

'git log' was not very helpful. Bisecting over the week end will be what I dreaded. Have to find a good commit.

wxPD_APP_MODAL : is its absence taken into account ?

Since my last 'git pull' 2 days ago, it seems to me that when a wxProgressDialog is created without the wxPD_APP_MODAL flag, the application frame gets disabled until the progress dialog is destroyed. That's with my daily app. I tested with the dialog sample app after commenting out that flag and I ...

Can't build with --disable-sys-libs

I am trying to build wxWidgets on Linux after 'git pull' configured with --disable-sys-libs. It constantly fails with this message : make: *** No rule to make target '../src/zlib/adler32.c', needed by 'wxzlib_adler32.o'. Stop. ../src/zlib/ is empty. On github, there's a 'zlib @ 5888671' directory th...

Re: wxComboBox appearance with GTK3

I'm indeed using wxWidgets from git, and GTK3 version is 3.22.12+6+g42aa4c138c-1, on Arch Linux.

I've found this report with a sizing issue : http://trac.wxwidgets.org/ticket/17585
It doesn't seem to be the same issue and it's solved.

I'll report it anyway.

Thanks.

wxComboBox appearance with GTK3

Hello, The link below show a screen capture of the samples 'combo' application, built with a GTK3 wxWidgets build. Line 1100 (colSizer->SetSizeHints( dlg );) has been commented to allow resizing of the dialog. After launching the 'combo' sample app, 'File/Compare against wxComboBox' menu is selected...

Re: A helper/wrapper class for libappindicator

Hello, After playing again with the app-indicator thing, I ended up with a much simpler code, attached in this post. It just plugs the wxMenu::m_menu object representing a GtkMenu in the indicator. The shown GTK menu has all the attributes of the source wxMenu, of which it is another representation,...

Re: wxFFileOutputStream : app crashes on poor wifi

After simplifying my file copy code and a few days of testing, there's no longer any application crash. Instead, there are two kind of GUI messages informing of a write error, even in release build. Thanks for your input.
