update

Don't know if it's the C++ code or something in Linux.
By the way, I looked at ifconfig and netstat outputs and they show that multicast is setup and that packets are being received with no errors, BUT my app gets nothing (recv returns -1).
Help!

Receiving UDP multicast

Hi I am trying to port some MS Visual Studio C++ code to Linux/wxWidgets. The code is socket-based and very similar between Windows and Linux. In Linux the socket, bind, and setsocketopt all return with no error. See: BOOL CAV15Input::SetupSocket(BOOL Out) { if(pU->PrDebug) { sprintf(_send,"CAV15Inp...

1. Help; I don't know what "code tags" are.

2. I did use the reference link, which goes on to say you can use Delete to gracefully end it. Somehow my code didn't do that. Letting the thread run to close and delete itself does work. Thanks.

Problem deleting wxThread

I have developed code to create and run a detached thread. I am able to run, pause, and resume the thread. However, when I try to stop and delete the thread I get the following error: "The thread -1215919200 is being destroyed while it is still running! The application may crash." I get the same err...

Application Installation on older Linux versions

I am developing applications on RHEL4 using wxGTK 2.8.8 and KDevelop 3.1.1. The apps compile, link, and run on the development computer. My problem is that my customer wants the apps to run on many PC's with Fedora Core 2 OS. Customer cannot upgrade to newer Linux. When I try to run the apps on Fedo...

Thread Priority

Is there a wxWidgets equivalent to MFC SetThreadPriority?
Any other way to designate a time-critical operation?
Thanks.

Trying to use existing C++ code (fopen/fprintf) so whichever can use that.
I tried to replace fopen with:
wxFFile wFile(filename,"w");
wFileAttach(tmp);
to try to get a pointer to the file to use in fprintf, but tmp returned null.
Thanks.

wxSetExitOnFrameDelete

Any information on how to use wxSetExitOnFrameDelete.
My frame is closing, but my application never gets to OnExit so I can close cleanly.
Thanks.

Dialog size and position problems

I am using DialogBlocks to build custom dialogs. I am then adding them to a C++ wxWidgets Linux application in KDevelop. My problems are that I cannot control the position and size of the dialog from either the DialogBlocks dialog code or the wxWidgets application code. Also, the controls on the dia...

adding custom dialog to wxWidgets

I am using RHEL 4 with KDevelop to develop C++ code.
I have selected the wxwidgets application project.
I would like to add custom dialogs built using QT Designer to this project.
How do I do that?
or is there some better way to combine custom dialogs with wxwidgets code?
Thanks.
