Hi! Could you post a stack dump? You should get one generated when the app crashes in debug mode. IF you tell me how to copy a stack dump in Visual Studio, I can post it. Hi! Another way would be to use Connect() and pass "this" as the event handler. Like myPanel->Connect( wxEVT_MOTION, wxMouseEven...

Hi! If you want to catch all mouse events write a class derived from wxEvtHandler and use PushEventHandler() for all widgets where you want to capture the event. I have a panel, but when I do this: myPanel->PushEventHandler(this); the code compiles but crashes when I start it (with a stop in app.h)...

Do you have a panel on your frame? If so the events are being triggered for the panel and not your frame. Take the panel off of the frame to see it work, or derive a custom panel class and put your event table in there instead. Yea I have a panel. I'll try to derive from that class to use an event ...

Mouse event handling?

Hello, I have a problem with mouse event handling. At the moment, I just want to test the different mouse events, but it seems that I do something wrong. For example, I want to use the EVT_MOTION(CMainFrame::onMouseMoveClient) Event, to call my method (onMouseMoveClient) when I move the mouse over t...

wxDockIt Question

Hello, I hope someone here has some experience with the wxDockIt library. My question is simple: How can I dock two docking windows into one docking host (e.g. the right site of my main window) one under the other? When I use the DockWindow Method of the LayoutManager with both docking windows, both...

Use the flag wxEXPAND. Thanks for the answer, but I used the wxEXPAND flag. Here is my code: wxBoxSizer* pSizer1 = new wxBoxSizer(wxVERTICAL); wxStaticBoxSizer* pSizer1_1 = new wxStaticBoxSizer(wxVERTICAL, p, "Simulation Control"); wxStaticBoxSizer* pSizer1_2 = new wxStaticBoxSizer(wxVERTICAL, p, "...

Sizer Question

Hello, I'm new to the concept of sizers, and I like the mechanism. Just one question: A horizontal sizer positions its childs horizontally, a vertical sizer positions its childs vertically. But, what if I want two objects (let's say two wxStaticBoxSizers) be aligned vertically (one StaticBox under t...

I just figured it out by myself :-) I hope this is not spam, I just want to contribute a solution, if anyone encounters the same problem. I only had to add these lines of code: wxPane* pPane = new wxPane(this, 0, "client_pane"); m_pLM->SetLayout(wxDWF_SPLITTER_BORDERS, pPane); pPane->ShowCloseButton...

Problem(s) with wxDockIt - can anyone help?

Hello, I hope someone could get some experience with wxDockIt to help me. I tried some things with it, created dockable sub-windows - just testet the whole lib a bit. This is what builds a frame with two dockable sub-windows with a wxLayoutManager that handles the docking: m_pText1 = new wxTextCtrl(...

Control in new frame - maximized?

Hello,

when I create a new wxFrame and add a control (a textctrl, a button etc...)to it, that control ignores it's size settings and will be maximized, so it fills out the frame.

May someone explain to me, why this happens?

Thanks a lot (from a wxWidgets beginner ;) )

Thanks a lot for all your help, now all runs smoothly :) I followed your idea and created a inv. variable named WXPATH, it's a good way to setup VS. However, I have some questions left: - I read that I must use the preprocessor statements "WINVER=0x0400;wxUSE_GUI=1" - are these relics from older ver...

Re: [MS VS .NET] Compiling the lib - One single .lib or not?

The preferred way of doing the libraries is the multiple library way. But unfortunately some projects don't use that, and expect a monolithic library. Thanks for your help. Now I don't use the "src"-files anymore to build the lib. But if you say, that the preferred way of building the libraries is ...

[MS VS .NET] Compiling the lib - One single .lib or not?

Hello, I'm new to wxWidgets and have just downloaded the source. I compiled the lib with Visual Studio .NET the way it was described on a webpage (was it wxWiki?) -> I builded the workspace in the folder "wxWidgets-2.6.0/build/msw/wx.dsw". After compiling it, there were a lot of single .lib files in...

Re: Beginner Questions: size of lib and possibility of gui

wxmswd.lib Do you really need a debug build? Oh well.. not really :) After compiling the release version, it is 25 mb. Really good size reduction. But do you have any tipps to reduce the size some more? http://forums.wxwidgets.org/viewtopic.php?t=2153 :) Oh thanks :) And what do you think about thi...

Beginner Questions: size of lib and possibility of gui

Hello, I have to start a new project and must choose a GUI library. So I decided to use wxWidgets, downloaded the sourec and compiled it (under Win with Visual Studio 2003). After compiling the lib I saw a whopping 40mb lib (wxmswd.lib) on my HD... well, I read about editing the config.h to minimize...
