Re: Have anyone tried the meganz mingw-std-threads C++11 std::thread for mingw-w64 win32 for production without issues?

Hi, While wxWidgets is not using C++11, no one prevents you from using C++11 in your own code. I'm doing that and I don't have any issues. You will need to compile wxWidgets in C++11 mode. but that''s about it. And it is only to keep the same exact options to the compiler. Just use std::thread unles...

Re: Simple wxSwitchCtrl class

Hi, FWIW, GTK has this control natively, and MSW (WPF I think) has it as well. GTK reference - https://docs.gtk.org/gtk4/class.Switch.html. Not sure about the OSX thiough - it looks like it is available for OSX since 10.15 (ref. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appkit/nsswitch?language=objc...

Re: GTK3 / wxStaticText size

Hi, This is actually very easy and straightforward. 1. Download and untar the archive (in e.g. ~/wxWidgets-3.1.5) 2. cd ~/wxWidgets-3.1.5 mkdir buildGTK cd buildGTK ../configure --with-gtk=3 --enable-debug make -j4 sudo make install 3. Recompile your project 4. Test Very simple and it will take abou...

Re: wxEVT_CHAR works, wxEVT_KEY_UP does not

Hi, Not necessarily. Those 2 events are independent - you can click the mouse, press the key or do both at the same time. But it shouldn't matter anyway - you don't need the "Del" key binding without the selection, right? So do just that in your program. And then when you delete what you don't want ...

Re: wxListview header obscures first row when using wxNotebook

Hi,
So you are seeing it under GNOME.
What about the GTK+ version? You also didn't say what theme do you use?

Thank you.

Re: GTK3 / wxStaticText size

Hi,
Why don't you compile that version yourself and try it?

Thank you.

Re: MSW: 3.1.2 + CMake3.19 install link errors (VS2015) (Edited: actually FindwxWidgets.cmake mostly)

Hi, I'm not trying to debate that, but you give several different solutions in different settings, which is the problem CMake is designed to address, by reducing it to one system. I understand. However CMake is not a compiler - it is merely a tool to generate the Makefile/solution that will be used ...

Re: wxEVT_CHAR works, wxEVT_KEY_UP does not

Hi,
Can't you do the binding inside the mouse click handler and then unbind the event at the end of the function?

Also - try to use wxEVT_KEY_DOWN, not _UP.

Thank you.

Re: Getting windows mousepointer icon = black square

Hi,
OTOH, creating a wxCursor from HCURSOR and then trying to create a wxBitmap from it led to a crash...
Was the crash on the 3.0.5 or HEAD?

Thank you.

P.S.: I'm going to get latest sources over the weekend and try it on all 3 platforms after OSX update..

Thank you.

Re: Help creating a wxProcess/wxGenericProgressDialog combo!

Hi,
It depends on the task at hand.
Usually subclassing wxWidgets controls have very small use-case scenarios especially with the latest release where you can dynamically bind the event from anywhere
The only 2 GUI classes that aer make sense subcklassing are wxFrame/wxTLW and wxDialog.

Good luck.
