Re: wxComboCtrl issues on different win 10 builds [SOLVED]

Hi, That's why the samples are provided and we should look at them if the problem occurs as the first resort. ;-) And of course it is great that you solved the problem in your code. On the side note - you can propose such a change by sending the E-mail to the wx-dev ML. Or if you feel strong enough ...

Re: wxComboCtrl issues on different win 10 builds [SOLVED]

Hi,
Do you see the same behavior withy the combo sample?
Did you build the program statically or dynamically linked?

Thank you.

Re: wxSimpleBook problems

Hi,
Can you try the notebook sample?
Also, it would be nice if you can develop on Debian {VM}. Remember wxWidgets using native sets of widgets where available and so it is possible that platform differences exists.

Thank you.

Rewriting in C++11

Hi, ALL, I am trying to rewrite a following code: wchar_t **p; for( int i = 0; i < num; i++ ) { p = new int*[i]; } for( int i = 0; i < num; i++ ) { p[i] = new wchat_t[256]; } to be something like this: auto p = std::unique_ptr<wchar_t[num]>{ new wchar_t( 256 ) }; but this code gave me errors: error ...

Thank you.

Re: purple background when transparency = true

Hi,
First of, any reason not to use 3.1.1?
Second - can we see some code and a screenshot of what is displayed? Unfortunately there is no one here on this forum whose name is Johnny-mnemonic. ;-)

Thank you.

Re: Don't understand warning

Hi, Yes, I am. "One" and only. ;-) In terms of erasing background - did you try to catch the EVT_ERASEBACKGROUND? About the file dialog - I was looking at that discussion with doublemax, but didn't want to interfere. What was the problem? Can you dig it up? My suggestion - don't go to Qt. ...

Re: Don't understand warning

Hi, 1. What differences did you encounter? Just name a few. Is the sample(s) behave the same or different? How can we see that? What Windows version did you try the samples on? Which exact GTK+ one? 2. As you already found wxX11 is seriously un-maintained. If you want to use it - you are on your own...

Re: wxThread & GUI

Hi,
You can send the data with the event.
An event class has {Get,Set}EventXXX() methods.

Check the documentation about it.

Thank you.

Re: wxThread & GUI

Hi, What do you mean? You create a pointer to either wxThread-derived class or to wxThread itself and then call thread->Run() which will start the thread/calculation. You have to call "Run()" method, otherwise no thread will start. Yes yes, I said it badly, my fault. I meant that thread->R...

Re: wxDataViewEvent.GetColumn() returns -1

Hi,
FYI, this has been fixed today.
The "column" parameter is now available in the actiavted event of wxDVC.

All 3 major platforms - MSW, *nix/GTK and OSX/Cocoa have this functionality available.

Thank you.

Re: wxThread & GUI

Hi, Instead you thread should declare an event that you fire and you dialog (or frame) should respond to this event by updating the GUI on the main thread. See thread sample or multiple code example on this forum. thanks @ONEEYEMAN , @catalin . I want to try this way, because it seems the easiest on...
