Re: Transparency PNG

New Pagodi,
So it is best to modify the PNG and give it an appropriate background colour in order to make it cross-platform?

Thank you.

Re: Event Handler with a Returning int

Hi, I don't understand what that is going to do, it will return from a function into the other real one, right? Josh No, it will not. The vent handler will not return anything - it always return "void". If you need the result of the event - as for example, you process some event and need to see the ...

Hi, Actually the code won't compile at all using wxDynamicCast() ||=== Build: Static Debug in S-SMS (compiler: GNU GCC Compiler) ===| C:\Users\Tomay\Desktop\Projects\S-SMS\S_SMSMain.cpp||In member function 'virtual void S_SMSFrame::m_pBtn_VK_Clear_OnButtonClick(wxCommandEvent&)':| C:\devel\wxWidgets...

Re: How to attach some user data to wxWindow?

Hi,
You shouldn't pass anything GUI-related to a secondary thread.
Passing it there will imply usage and you can't use it inside the thread.

;-)

Thank you.

Re: What is the best way to work with .rc in DLL project

Hi, PB, Sorry for the stupid questions, but they are mandatory. ;) They are not stupid - as you say "they are mandatory" ;-) Can you load other resources or all resources fail to load? In the DLL there is only one "bold" PNG image. There is no other resources in other DLLs - just main resource file ...

Re: What is the best way to work with .rc in DLL project

Hi, PB, From the .rc file: bold RCDATA "res/gui/bold.png" From the .cpp file: m_styleBar->AddTool( 303, _( "Bold" ), wxBITMAP_PNG( bold ), wxNullBitmap, wxITEM_NORMAL ); From the Resource Hacker I see that the resource is called BOLD, but I think this is just the Windows not distinguishing the upper...

Re: WxWidgets?

Hi, This looks a lot like an XRC system. Read the documentation about it. Now remember wxWidgets is using native set of controls, therefore I doubt you will be able to create something on the menubar, but you can use some ownerdrawn menu items. Again check the docs of what kind of controls you will ...

Re: looking for EVT_TREE_SEL_CHANGING handler example

Hi,
Yes, you are correct in a sense that it is fired in between.
Why do you need to see an example? All you do is mimicing the EV_TREE_SEL_CHANGED and either veto the change or not.

What else do you want to do there?

Thank you.

Re: What is the best way to work with .rc in DLL project

Hi, PB, Yes the resource file is added to both disk and the DLL project (using MSVC 2017 Community). The reason I am talking about resource compiler is because when I try to change that file and rebuild, I don't see the resource compiler to be executed to rebuild the rc file. I will try to use Resou...

Re: WxWidgets?

Hi, It is possible to write some XML parser and then dynamically bind an event to the GUI element based on the parsed object. In regards to point 1 - nothing prevents you from using your own library (or any 3rd party library for that matter) with wxWidgets. As PB said - boost and cURL are good examp...

What is the best way to work with .rc in DLL project

Hi, I'm developing a project which contains a binary and couple of DLLs. One of the DLLs needs the locally available resources (one that no other DLLs or binary needs). Now, what I did The DLL project are the mimics of the DLL project from the sample. So no Resources are available. I added the resou...

PR errors out on Travis CI

Hi, Could someone please help. I submitted PR 1356 couple of days ago. However for some unknown reason Travis CI failed to compile it. It is compiled fine on my machine with either default gcc 5.4 in C++11 mode or using: CXXFLAGS=-std=c++98 ../configure --enable-debug --with-gtk=3 but Travis uses th...
