I was able to figure out my own problem. I had wxmsw28.lib and wxbase28.lib both included in the project. Before this was not a problem. However, when I turned on wxUSE_STD_IOSTREAM, the libraries conflicted. I don't know enough to know why, but when I removed wxmsw28.lib from the project, the linke...

wxUSE_STD_IOSTREAM 1 related question

I am trying to use wxLogStream and wxStreamToTextRedirector. The documentation says you must have wxUSE_STD_IOSTREAM option on in your setup.h to be able to use it. I am using wxPack 2.8.9.02. I went to the setup.h located in include\wx and changed wxUSE_STD_IOSTREAM to 1. In the setup.h located in ...

Importing from Glade and GTK

Sorry for the novice question. I have an extensive GUI developed in Glade and GTK that I would like to port over into wxWidgets. Is there a way for wxWidgets to read the Glade files? I would prefer not to rebuild everything from scratch. Also, can wxWidgets use GTK calls? Obviously, wxGTK translates...

Button Font Size

I apologize for the ignorance of this question, but I am new to wxWidgets. I am trying to resize the font in a button. If I do the following: wxButton *btn1 = new wxButton; wxFont font(36, wxFONTFAMILY_DEFAULT, wxNORMAL, wxNORMAL); btn1->SetFont(font); btn1->Create(this, wxID_ANY, wxT("Button Text")...

I changed the dependencies so that all the projects had one and only one dependency, that being the project before it in the Visual C++ Guide suggested order. I then went to Batch Build with all the Core configurations selected and clicked Rebuild. The same errors were present.

Thank you for your response. As always, I apologize for my ignorance on the matter, but I'll try to be more detailed about what I'm doing just to make sure it is correct. According to the Visual C++ Guide, if you are doing a Batch Build, you select the Batch Build option, click Select All to select ...

I just tried 2.8.10 and it gives me the same errors. I again first ran into the odbc error, but it was corrected in the same manner as above. When I got to the core library, it again gave the errors quoted above in the same configurations. I am literally downloading the latest stable, installing it ...

It appears that 2.8.10 is now the latest stable. Unless you can point me to 2.8.9, I'll try 2.8.10. Thank you again for your help.

I went to core Properties->Configuration Properties->Linker->Input->Additional Dependencies and found that comctl32.lib was included in the list. Sorry for not knowing where to look for that. Any other ideas?

Thank you again for your quick response. In the Runtime Library field, I have "Multi-threaded Debug DLL (/MDd)." When you say that wxWidgets must be using the same as yours, I'm not entirely sure what you mean there. I am not yet trying to compile a stand alone program yet. I am simply trying to com...

Thank you very much for the response. I'm very sorry for my ignorance, but can you please tell me where I can look for that? Again, I apologize, but I am new to Visual Studio. Thank you again for your assistance.

Problem Compiling the Core Library

I am new to wxWidgets and am simply trying to compile the provided libraries. I am using wxWidgets 2.8.8 and am trying to compile using Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition. Per the Visual C++ Guide found at http://wiki.wxwidgets.org/Microsoft_Visual_CPP_Guide, I originally tried doing a batch build of a...
